Green Lab is a strategic delivery partner for Shoreditch Works, a major regeneration project led by Linea Properties to transform the heart of Hackney into London’s premiere Regenerative Business Hub. This landmark development integrates circular economy principles, low-impact design, and inclusive community building – and Green Lab is helping bring it to life.

Since 2024, we’ve been working closely with Linea to support their placemaking strategy, activation programme, and sustainability vision for the site. Our role spans incubation, public engagement, workspace strategy, education, and the development of real-world tools that support sustainable enterprise and ecological thinking.

At the core of the project is the Shoreditch Works Innovation Centre – a new kind of workspace designed for early-stage and high-growth green businesses. Drawing on our experience running incubators and building regenerative systems, Green Lab is helping design and activate a facility that includes:

• Wet and dry laboratories for materials and product development.
• Digital fabrication and rapid prototyping tools.
• Grow labs for food system innovation.
• Testing and evaluation tools for circular manufacturing.

Beyond infrastructure, we’re delivering a multi-year programme of workshops, events, skills development, and pre-incubation – engaging local residents, entrepreneurs, students, and underrepresented groups. Our aim is to build a living ecosystem of sustainability-focused businesses and community initiatives.

Between 2024 and 2028, Green Lab our activities will include

• A pilot Regenerative Innovation Hub as part of a 48-month co-design pilot.
• A public Material Library and series of Zero Waste Initiatives.
• A Materials Lab for textiles and materials research.
• A pre-incubator to support new climate-focused startups.
• 12-week Artist and Maker Residencies to support creative innovation.

Green Lab’s involvement goes beyond programming. We’re working toward becoming an on-site workspace provider, ensuring long-term alignment between the development’s physical infrastructure and its regenerative mission. Throughout, we’re committed to ensuring that Shoreditch Works is not just a development – it’s a catalyst for community-led climate action and inclusive economic growth.
