We’ve built London’s first openly accessible organic and bio-plastics Material Lab and Library inside Green Lab

The Material Lab is a working space for research to take place. If your intrigued to experiment with living and bio-materials, but don’t have the space at home or the need to use an expensive bio lab, we offer an in-between space – where you can hack together research and experimentation to develop ground breaking samples.

Our developing material library will be a space to connect industry to researchers – showcasing materials that are pushing the boundaries alongside more traditional options. Our material library will be a space for professionals to come and source inspiration and forecast future developing materials whilst also gaining direct access to our members and there research.

Become a member by paying our monthly membership fee and providing a little info about yourself and your practice

Become inducted to the Lab

Book a compulsory 1 hour induction with the Material Lab team to become inducted into how to use the space safely

£20 induction fee*

choose between level 1 & level 2 sessions

Once you have been inducted into the lab you will be able to book Level 1 or Level 2 sessions depending on which equipment you require.

Material Lab facilities

Bench 1

Stainless steal workbench backed against a stainless steal wall with access to 4 plug sockets. This bench also has a cleaning kit and a basic equipment kit - to find out exactly what basic equipment bench 1 has please go to our wiki.

Prep Bench

Stainless steal work bench for prep work – this bench has no access to plug sockets and is therefore ideal for any wet prep or finishing work to be done. This space is located by the sinks so they can easily be accessed.
